Upasana Academy was founded by Dr Ruhul Amin Chowdhury and Dr Chandana Das in the year 2004 in Roypur, Maheshtala. Being doctors by profession, and practising medicine in this area for more than 25 years, both of them realised early on that quality education was the only way to improve the social and cultural fabric of society.
With this goal in mind, and with an aspiration to give something back to the society, the school started its journey with just four students. Today it has over 800 students.
The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi up to Senior Secondary Level.
